The life of an entrepreneur isn’t always easy. One of the biggest frustrations for entrepreneurs is the (poor) payment behavior of their clients. This is especially true for small amounts, where many entrepreneurs feel that starting a collection process isn’t “worth the effort.” However, it does pay to hand over your receivables as quickly as possible, even for smaller claims, as one of our clients experienced:

Our client ran a consultancy focused on healthcare issues, assisting clients with individual care needs, such as PGB recipients. Although customers were always very satisfied with the services, our client still struggled with many poorly or very late-paying customers. Especially for smaller invoices ranging from €100.00 to €200.00, many clients failed to pay on time. Triggered by our “no cure, no pay” approach, the client decided to proceed with collections for several of these customers and handed the claims over to our office.

Contrary to our client’s expectations, more than three-quarters of the claims were paid within two weeks through our mediation, despite the fact that many invoices had been outstanding for a long time. Unfortunately, one claim couldn’t be collected because the debtor had “disappeared.” Since "No cure, no pay" truly means No cure, no pay with us, no fees were charged to our client for this case—no file costs, no startup costs—just profit for our client.

So it’s definitely worth handing over your claims (even the smaller ones you might have written off) to our office in a timely manner. Since client retention is our priority, it creates a win-win situation for the entrepreneur in every respect.
